the easiest argument that proves a difference between Traditional/Digital art, Photography and Generative AI is this
If you take a Trad/Digi artist and take away their go to medium and replace it with something else (take a traditional painter and give them a drawing tablet, or a digital artist and give them paint.) they can and will be able to make something fairly decent, as their skills are transferable. they will take time to learn this new medium and make it work for their style.
if you take a photographer and take away their DSLR camera and give them a cheap children's camera or something they can still take good photos as the skills of photography composition dont just vanish.
but with Generative AI if you take away the the art work used to create the model's algorithm, it CANNOT create anything decent anymore, as it wasn't a skill, it is a program. it's not transferable. if you take away the AI program from a Generative AI "Artist" and hand them a Pen and paper they cannont make anything to the quality they have been
