Its important to remember not to gatekeep art as though it is more legitimate if it was made with artistic skill. Art has always been in the eye of the beholder, artistic skill was never technically needed for it, artists just benefitted from the sad reality that art was hard to make up until now. I view "copyright infringement" and "intellectual property" as a nonsensical anti-human creation of capitalism. We even acknowledge this fact with the existence of the "public domain", knowledge, culture, and art should belong to everyone. It's capitalism that's the problem. It's warped artistic skill from something inherently fullfilling into being valued for its product, because capitalism values people by what they can produce. I dont hate AI because it steals art, I hate AI companies for stealing art and selling it back to us. If they used the art of the masses to make their AI, then it should be owned by the masses.
