i think you're missing the part where every individual piece of an image made from the slop machine is a part of an image a human being made, to the fault of the ai's own functionality ai is entirely at the behest of the artist (or the random techbro taking from the artist) to present it new ideas, seeing as humans actually experience the world and have a constant flood of entirely new source material to use. an ai cant draw beavers if no images of beavers are put into its source material, and this stays the same for basically every concept. ai cannot innovate, and it can only reflect images that have already been put into it. its an overcomplicated piece of software that outputs an equal amount of what its been input, making it reliant on artists until a machine mind is made with the same capacity as a person's and a way to sense the world. which at that point in my opinion is just a person made of electronic hardware shooting battery powered signals instead of meat shooting salt powered signals you flow near my second point by saying that "its just not the same when i know its not from a person", an integral part of art is its existence as a form of communication between a human being and a human being, or a human being and the self. the most frequent message between artists is "look how cool this thing i made is" lol but it is a form of communication. this youtube comment can be considered art by the standards i am implying. its a casual context, but much like with drawing im spending time putting together recognizable messages and communicating concepts with another human. most ai is just slop from the slop machine with the artistic input of a google search. of course, a human being can take ai and do extracurricular work to express their own ideas, but then it becomes art again, full stop, like the video of bad apple made with ai images anyway, thats my yap
