Nailed it on most points as usual - with the glaring exception of that "people want to work" garbage.
People have been _conditioned_ - by capitalism, religion, and government - to believe they're only worthwhile if they spend the majority of their lives slaving away for someone else's profit. Eliminating this illusion is one of the few good things AI could do that might potentially balance out the harm.
Work should be a voluntary pursuit because it's something a person is interested in, cares about, or enjoys. What we have now is wage slavery, and no plausible or realistic amount of stock or profit sharing is going to change that, if your choice is still "work or die".
The problem is, it's all well and good to automate away human drudgery, but only with an economic model designed around (comfortably!) supporting the tens or hundreds of millions no longer paid for those jobs. At this point, I see way for us to get through this without UBI - necessarily paid out of the profits of largest companies, of course, and especially those profiting most off replacing human jobs.
