There's another layer to this. Let's suppose we build an infrastructure around robots and AI... And then some technological tragedy wipes out our data centers, power grids, or software integrity. Now we have no self driving logistics, no manufacturing, and no qualified workers or tools to quickly replace them with. That means putting all of our eggs into a fragile digital basket and hoping for the best.
