The conversation is way too esoteric.
Remember AI has trouble innovating, it cannot think or come up with a solution that is better than the current. That's why it cannot create beautiful paintings or music because it does not understand what beautiful means.
It just knows how to do what is currently done, but not necessarily more efficiently. We see this in software development where AI can call functions autonomously but will write code inefficiently by writing calls back to things it has already called.
Employers are just happy that AI can write any code at all and they in turn can eliminate a job or FTE.
