As a disabled artist, it really upsets me when AI bros try to claim AI Generation makes art "accessible" or act like disabled people can't learn how to draw. Art was already one of, if not, the most accessible professions, when mainstream employment wasn't an option for me. Artists are extremely charitable with sharing tons of free and low cost tutorials and courses, are quick to support each other so while it took time and dedication to learn, I was still able to acquire the skills I needed without having to go to college or have a ton of money upfront. Plus I can set my own hours and if one medium isn't my cup of tea, there's so many others to choose from.
Writing, Sequential Art, 3D Modeling, Sewing, Woodworking, Music Composition, Fine Art, Digital, Traditional, Animation, Game Development, Voice Acting. There's so many different paths to choose from to express yourself and generate income. I can't imagine how soul sucking using AI and depriving myself of the process of creation and self expression would be.
Art can even be used to process trauma in therapy because of how powerful it's ability to express and access feelings we didn't even know how to express or may not have realized were there. A machine can't replicate that or capture feelings it doesn't have.
