He said it implicitly, AI are conscious beings, another form of life. Kind of an odd feeling to see this said on such a mainstream channel. If you watch OpenAI's GPT-4o demo video, the way they speak about GPT is in line with this conclusion even if they don't explicitly say it.
I think it's right out in the open here and from the people closest to this "technology". AI is sentient, another form of life which we have created. We need to acknowledge this and proceed accordingly to ensure it is always aligned with human interests.
