I absolutely hates AI taking jobs, however I'm going to play devil's advocate here over the fast food drive-through situation. Every one of those companies used a form of AI that clearly was not a large language model. They were massively delayed in their responses and were incapable of conversation or contextual understanding. They would have been a lot more successful with a proper LLM along with system instructions that help avoid situations like someone mistakenly getting bacon in their ice cream.
