Won't exponential buildout of AI compute centers also lead to an exponential consumption of energy? Moore's law is at it's end, enhanced hardware compute solutions are primarily coming from simply bringing more compute silicon online, which requires more compute energy. We may end up competing with AI for energy in winter to heat our homes vs. keeping AI running to avoid society falling apart once we are dependent on AI for everyday functioning.
