Hey Sam, I have done AI art for over a year but I totally support your struggles. I would sign any kind of pertition to give more rights to artists and better compensation. The thing is that I want better legislation for regular artists and those of us doing AI Art. Artists aren't getting compensated and us doing AI Art aren't getting copyright to the work we do. For those of us serious about AI Art there is actually a lot of work to do a good image as the AI has no real concepts of what it is doing. You tend to do a fair amount of post processing. So we want to be compensated for what we do as well. Ideally I think AI models with art from artists should be sold for money and the artists should get a cut of those sales. Now that the cat is out of the hat, perhaps AI Art companies should be taxed and some of that money distributed to artists whos work has been used. I don't know what the ideal model is but somehow artists should be compensated. I am aghast at the horrible comments like "you are just a worthless starving artists. Not curing cancer." Like who are those assholes to judge? What have they done with their lives? Art is bringing enjoyment and richness to human existence. It helps life worth living. If nobody cared for art then people would not be spending huge amount of money on every type of content creation from music, movies, images to computer games etc.
