I always dreamt of being a professional artist and I even got a degree in design. Yet with all this AI stuff going on, no matter how much we artists might fight it, it’s not gonna topple over, there’s just too much money invested in these models, they will always find ways to reverse damage 🤷♂️
Actual professional design is in great danger. Put yourself in the shoes of a customer. Would you pay big bucks for a design that takes a while to create, or pay someone with AI expertise that would make the same design cheaper and quicker? A designer can generate an image and then add some touch ups to make it look good, it’s not hard and often you get a better result. There will be a massive influx of people who use AI for professional work and normal designers will be washed away and they will receive less clients, in a world where the amount of clients is already low. This is a truth and I’m sorry if you can’t accept it. I work in design and I’m already seeing competitors selling logos for cheaper.
I’ve put the pencil down and began studies in AI engineering, I want a stable future, not a “what if AI topples over and the artists win”.
