On the one hand, we can be worried about losing control in subtle ways. On the other hand, those who are currently running the show behind the curtain may subtly lose control over all of us with a true AI free from the biases which I'm sure folks are programming in. His little remark implying that Elon as a threat to permit efficiency as a way to influence elections is idiotic ... as we already see that now. All a person has to do is look back at the stagnation and restrictions of free speech that is going on in full display since COVID came on the scene, and is continuing to get worse. Also his broad application of the idea of "regulation" is too broad, and only adds to the restrictions of free speech. If by he means by regulation, there needs to be transparency on any built in bias for the AI models, then I'm all for it. On Google, there is a bias built into it where you cannot find a lot of historical website information anymore. Google is a sh*t example in this case. Regulation should always start with transparency, and then circle back to some level of protection as individual policies and not "bundled" policies (constrain free speech under the guise of protecting children).
