I don't understand the reactionary sentiment of your arguments. Saying as a blanket statement that modern art is bad leads me to believe that you haven't actually visited that many museums, because when you do you'll quickly find that the "modern art == made without skill and therefore worthless" is a false equivalence and a harmful narrative. Pieces like the urinal or the banana are rare examples that have pierced to the mainstream for how provocative they were at the time. This ties into the idea that art is a statement, and remains ultimately political. We have countless abstract artists now but Pollock's work was innovating for the time, and also painting on such large canvases is definitely harder than you might think. If you strip something out of it's historical and practical context then yeah, it loses all meaning. Don't you think that if it was that easy anyone could get their work in an art expo ?
Modern art is good. Saying that Basquiat is bad because he doesn't respect fundamentals, or that Rammellzee is bad because he uses recycled materials would be silly. You've been ragebaited by the same people that defend AI art man
