If you have 10 people doing a job, why fire 9 of them and have 1 person use AI and do the work of 10, when you could keep all 10 people, pay them the same, prevent 9 law suits, and have these 10 people all use AI and do the work of 100 people? People who think that most jobs will be taken over by AI have a Thanos-like view of the world - he decided to kill half of everyone because we only had the resources for half, instead of just doubling the resources.
Companies have no reason to not be a 100 times, or even a 1000 times more productive and efficient - the world always needs more, and the more it has, the more value in the economy. There's no point in firing 90 percent of your workforce, producing the same output for 10 percent of the cost, and realising that there's no one who can buy your product because you and every other company has created 90 percent unemployment and crashed the economy.
I don't think any of these doom predictions will materialise -we'll be fine.
