I've been an artist my whole life, but I never really had that innate speciest bias that makes non-human generated art aversive to my eyes.
The process you described of the AI synthesizing hundreds of years of human techniques is basically how I would sum any artist's journey, swapping the tech jargon for bio jargon.
Never mattered to me. If a generated image makes my brain light up, it's up to me to investigate what in the image is worth taking inspiration from. Limiting your sources is a stylistic choice anyone can make, but don't let society compell you to do so
