what we have now isn’t true AI, it’s closer to a VI, a virtual intelligence. A VI is a computer pretending to be concious through advanced machine learning and simulation algorithms. it able to apologize to you because the computer has learned that’s what you do when you can’t do something for someone, but it cannot actually feel sorry or regret anything because it has no internal thought processes, its just a machine that’s been taught to produce similar results to a human in social contexts. It can’t use logic or empathy or produce its own results, only draw from vast databanks
