Once again, discussing AI without mentioning the elephant in the room: capitalism is the _wrong_ economic system for AI.
The problem is that under capitalism only the few owners of the AI will benefit from it. Capitalism is a two-class system. One class is the rich owners who control the means of production, the employers. The other class is the worker class who sell their labor for a wage, the employees. Thus the owners, the oligarchs, will reap the benefits of AI.
AI could actually be a good thing if the benefits were divided among everyone. We could all work less. But it will not end that way unless we change the fundamental system. UBI is not a solution; it's just a patch. It's a way to try to extend the life of capitalism before it crashes. But it will never address fundamental problem which is that we do not have democratic control of _our own_ means of production. It still leaves control with the very few.
