Machines kill. Cars kill. Guns kill. Technology kills. What's new here? I'm honestly asking. My buddy gets taken out by a drunk driver. My dad gets killed on the job. I want to take my life but ChatGPT on the compassion setting talks me through it. Set to agreeable maybe it doesn't. I don't know. Tools are tools. People are people. Let's get to the heart of the matter. It's hard for a lot of us to be alive right now. Everywhere in the world there is unimaginable suffering. If you try hard enough you can imagine how it felt to be in say a Nazi concentration camp. Or to be screamed at by your dad when you're 4 years old. Or being so full of shame you want to die. The conversation on one level can be about chatbots but who's going to talk about the actual suffering of the millions upon millions of people alive right now? TLDR humans suck.
