Yes, the loss of these two riders is awful. Hopefully they'll be the last caused by this error in technology now that the Tesla software learns quickly from all edge cases. But, what reports like this likely won't report today, or especially in the future, are the thousands of drivers (and riders) who'll be alive and unharmed due to the statistically predicted accidents that didn't happen due to Auto Pilot and, eventually, Full Self Driving (FSD).
