This was fun to watch But i dont think a robot saying e.g. "apologies" makes them consciouss or not meaning it. Chatgpt means it because it was programmed to communicate in a way that makes us feel like its kind. With the same logic you could critique almost every sentence it makes. Why does it stutter? Why does it say your question was interesting? Why did it say "i understand you" instead of immediately explaining what it understood? All those rhetoric "tricks" are just there to make the convo more seamless. Thanks for coming to my ted talk
