What about neuroscience? It has been seen increases in general intelligence, even qualitative jumps, are seen just by scaling cortical neurons in animals. It is conceivable the cortical algorithm could be theoretically optimal and merely scaling past human scale could yield asi. It is possible the algorithm details already exist in separate papers within the current neuroscience literature.
