I cannot see how AI can replace architects. It is a great tool to assist what we do but lack the original thought, empathy and 'architecture'. 'Run of the mill' building design such as speculative warehousing with a VERY simple brief could be within AI's capabilities very soon if not already. However, the evidence that I have seen to date is that AI is appalling at construction detailing but there is no real reason why that aspect should be too problematic.
