With Moore's Law, those insects will become equivalent of arachnids, reptiles, and mammals pretty fast. 10-20 years may seem like a long time now, but i'm guessing you'll start to see AI assisting operatives at both the ground level and command level in not too long. Like a drone where instead of flying and targeting, it's on auto pilot, and you just give it directions (coordinates and mission), and approve actions (taking out targets it finds and analyzes), with manual override as an option.
