I plugged the avatar I made for YouTube (my lemon guy) into an AI site that claimed it owns everything that you put into it unless you do it with their premium package …
The submission was done under their premium package trial. The 3D model was completely unusable for what I needed. I had to remap (put boundaries for coloring), recolor it, breakup parts, add on some other parts and rig it (aka give it a skeleton for animation purposes).
I kept a few additions that the AI added (“hair”), but everything else was my doing.
I’m definitely going to look into getting the 3D model copyrighted because there’s no way they can claim their AI co-authored this with the amount of prework before entering it and post work that came after the AI made it 3D.
