Prompting for AI is literally no different from commissioning a human artist. You write words representing what you want in your commission, and hope the guy drawing it gets close to what you have in mind. As someone who draws, both are equally useless to me since I can just draw it myself. The difference is when I have my collection of 70s Inkblot Clown Girls and want them drawn in the style of 90s Don Bluth, I don't have to pay upwards of $90 per drawing just for the Human Artist to take weeks and still get the Hands wrong. That, and the Robot doesn't snarkpost about commission art not having "Soul." (Neither have souls: I drew those clown girls because they make me happy, commission artists drew those clown girls because I told them to.) Both people inside and outside the art community are noticing this, and have opted for the path of no resistance — drawing for themselves, and maybe getting the Robot to make something for them.
