There will be some pain, maybe even significant for many, but after the transition, new jobs will evolve. A lot of what is predicted will not happen for many years. Remember shows like Space 1999 and the movie 2001 Space Odyssey? Visionary but not even remotely close. The next world war will probably take a lot of the attention and resources away from AI.
