I think theres still a major part of the problem which is the fact that ai is trained on existing art. That is basically theft. Why wait for an artist to painstakingly and breathtakingly make a work of art when you can make a robot use that same style and mass produce a billion images in seconds? suddenly that artist's uniqueness is not so unique, and with how quick people can judge, they can sometimes accuse the artist of theft themselves.
And theyre doing this without consent. Without artists saying "hey its ok to use my work to train your ai image generators". Thats the real problem unfortuneately. Quality has nothing to do with the argument
