I, an Artist, don't care. So, an AI learns from others in order to create its own Art. PEOPLE DO THIS! You've learned from others work. Most of you are NPC's. nothing more than the end sum of your external factors: experience, environment, and zeitgeist. The majority of you reading this are bias functioned. You haven't gotten past Confirmation Bias, and Cognitive Dissonance, let alone been aware of your own Negativity Bias and various other forms of bias that plague people, and prevent them from truly finding themselves outside of their external factors, which dictate to them how to act, react, and think. MOST OF YOU ARE BOTS! So, being an Artist myself, who has learned from other Artists, don't fucking care. Is my Art commercial? No, sure, you can argue with me on the fact this affects commercial Art. I do my Art for me, and AI cannot replace that. If I did it for money, than yes, AI threatens that. AI doesn't threaten Art, it only threatens peoples ability to make money on their Art. The thing is, this is all inevitable. I've been closely paying attention to Tech/AI/Robotics for a number of years, and around the subject of Disruptive Technologies, AI TAKING OVER THE ARTS IS INEVITABLE. IN 6-9 YEARS HOLLYWOOD IS FUCKING DEAD! Voice to Video User/Director AI will allow a person at home with a decent PC to make a Blockbuster sized movie within less than a month on barely any budget. AI among other tech incoming, will decentralize so many things. It is coming, and you cannot stop it. Here's the thing though. Past the incoming very bumpy road with a Type 0 to a Type 1 Civilization transformation, the future will actually be a sandbox for Artists, Engineers, Architects, and Storytellers. So cry more, shits going to change, and it is what it is.
