I'm going to speculate that we are totally screwed. We can not compete with the new A.I. life form(s). It takes most of us 20 years to learn enough to become semi- functional. New A.I. based beings come off the assembly line and are fully functional with vastly faster processing power with vastly more information. We are totally outclassed. We can't stop developing it because other hostile countries will gain a huge advantage if they get there first. And when the singularity does emerge, we will be totally helpless and useless to it. This is humanity's death spiral. Logically, 99.999% of humanity will have no value, and the remaining humans are questionable at best. Some may survive only if we stay out of its way.
