All the guy's questions at the end are answered with a no. It won't improve jobs. It won't make highways safer. It won't help fight climate change. And it won't do a thing for infrastructure. You don't improve jobs you don't need. And specializing jobs doesn't create more, it eliminates everyone who can't or won't upgrade, and eliminates all of the jobs that used to exist for these people. Highways won't be safer with automated vehicles that don't respond as expected, nor have any idea how to respect another vehicle that is acting off. And who is gong to do a facking thing for climate change? This does not mean less trucks, it means more, because now you can run them 5 times cheaper. And the impact in infrastructure will be immense when these things get into inevitable accidents. This technology is far from perfect, and the world is filled with traffic accidents. Who's gonna pay when an army of trucks smash up the medians? Or when a corporation decides to put 200 trucks through a back route and tear up the road?
This is just corporations making an extra buck at the expense of everyone else. Wake up.
