Maybe this is really what Trump-fascism is all about.
Those on the far right, including a growing number mega-billionaires (especially tech giants), may have already realized that the growth of AI could be deliberately harnessed to create even more societal chaos than AI will cause naturally. The incredibly rapid rise in the power of AI, along with Donald Trump's sudden and surprising popularity, has created an amazing opportunity for them to seize power and create a full-on, militarized authoritarian state.
