As someone who learnt to paint by copying (photographic memory), it’s 100% stealing. But with humans most use it as a learning tool to make their own style whereas an AI doesn’t have an imagination which leads the copying to stay as a stolen style of art rather than inspired art.
Plus I just think it’s generally uglier than the original images🤷🏻♂️
