One thing these documentaries about automation fail to address is how the issue changes if these businesses or work places are worker owned and operated. A business owned by a capitalist or shareholders renders people jobless and at risk of poverty or homelessness when their job is replaced. However, a business owned by workers - when they increase automation, the workers suddenly give themselves more free time off work while taking home the same pay. The nature of how this issue changes based on who owns these corporations really needs to be explored by More Perfect Union, otherwise they are doing themselves and all of us a disservice.
