The issue here is what happened with some medical AIs. AI doesn't understand the training data, so it can't control for lots if things a real person could. You give me a 100 cases, if there's a pattern I will ask why the pattern is there. The AI might not. The AI doesn't know why pictures of skin disease have rulers. The AI doesn't know why certain groups don't get pain management or get an extra dose of anesthetic, it just concludes that's how it should be done - great when it gives better dosage to ADHD patients for surgery, not so great when it keeps denying pain meds for women or starts overdosing Russian or Irish people because it doesn't know gingers were overrepresented in the training sample
But specialized AI that doesn't get trained on Grey's Anatomy mpreg fanfic could be the tool that gives us all the advantages of peer communication between patients with less of the drawbacks
