I just passed 100K words in my novel and find AI really bland. Its writing tries too hard and just feels bland. I use it for areas I'm weaker in. For example, if I'm writing from the perspective of a captain with four decades of experience, I need to sound like I have a clue. I don't. But research and AI can help me sound like I do. I mainly use it to help me fill in knowledge gaps when writing about something I'm not an expert in. Even still, I sometimes spend a week on a single scene, tying in layers and researching elements. It's a tool, not the artist
