For coding work, the AI is useful for helping the programmer navigate new areas of code to apply their skills. "Vibe coding" can get part of the way there. But it is no replacement for the critical thinking required to actually deliver something that works. When it comes to my niche, because it involves geometry that has to be exactly correct, only a human with visual feedback can make a judgement on whether the result is correct. throwing another coin in the slot machine takes longer than stepping through and understanding how the code works to find where it goes wrong.
