I don't currently use ChatGPT, worrying about my mental health in regard to constant affirmations, but if I did, this would be the last worry on my mind. While I don't think OpenAI is trustworthy, I see no reason for them to lie about their opt-in for training doing anything or that they remove PII when training is enabled. It just doesn't make sense for them to risk opening themselves up to that controversy and potential lawsuits when they could just not give you the option and not claim to remove PII instead.
