If we assume existing trends persist, any productivity gain will be captured by the wealthy. In democratic societies with a robust system of taxation, the AI boom will lead to people having more time to focus on the things that truly matter to them. In all other societies, people will be oppressed and starve.
Frankly, I think this is probably something we will have to destroy for humanity to survive. Stupid billionaires and their greed, it would be nice if they were actually smart, or knew how to value life at all. Maybe that's just a problem with people in general...
