When we get to super intelligence it'll be very different from an LLM. LLMs are missing way to many components to even really be considered intelligent in a useful way. They are middle to middle, not end to end. A breakthrough is required to fix that.
The other huge issue is pretending natural selection only acts on genes. It acts on any replicator. Ideas and AIs too. Given enough time and space we may see a universe of AIs that are great at copying themselves.. or maybe memes keep winning and we all sign up to the cooperate cooperate solution to game theory like in the culture series.
