Competency using current LLMs can serve as a great discriminator for HR. There are applicants who are definitely outliers and don’t need to master it, but they’re already well known in their specific fields. Young employees who aren’t learning are dying (figuratively) and aren’t worth onboarding. If you’re young, learn as much as you can about current and upcoming AI systems — both its benefits and drawbacks. Putting your head in the sand isn’t a plan.
