Let me ask something: why people give value to the opinion of famous scientists on topics they have NO expertise?? It doesn't matter that you have a Nobel prize, your don't know everything. Also, pure mathematicians, physicists and certainly philosophers have no idea about how modern technology works. Professor Hawking was afraid of AI for its ability to defeat us, spawning scifi scripts left and right. While Sir Roger is right saying that AI doesn't have consciousness, the term was coined to describe the technology that mimics the human mind, automatically (even though it's actually semi-automatic), resending the term "intelligence" has no impact on the functionality of the technology
