An argument made from perceived superiority is always made through the lens of false expertise. Dunning-Kruger effect, essentially.
There are a lot of factors that go into the things a false expert is unaware of, and a lot of moral grandstanding that every avenue follows if part of the process is taking work from others. At one time, I believed AI art to be largely harmless, and now since someone was willing to explain in a way that made sense, rather than just crying foul or name calling, I can understand why AI art is considered harmful.
Anyone who works hard for something will always be bothered by those who skate by with no effort on the backs of their hard work, and anyone who takes the easy path will always justify their methods by giving backhanded complements to those who work hard or outright insulting denouncers as being incapable of comprehending their genius.
If you need to use other people's work to succeed, either credit them or don't do it at all.
