You really think psychiatry could be replaced by AI? Having a robot responding to codes for acute agitation and making ethical decisions about people's autonomy - deescalating situations, holding people against their will or providing chemical sedation? Psychiatry is not just about validating a patient and making them feel good. it's about support, even when we challenge their behaviours and beliefs. Negative emotions towards a provider may also reveal a lot about a person's trauma, hence be a target for powerful revelations and change (eg. The TikTok sensation who fell in love with her psychiatrist - likely saying a lot about childhood traumatic bonds. AI only reinforced and validated her cognitive distortions or else she would stop engaging)
