I see AI development as revenge of industrial revolution. Where the skilled artisan work got replaced by common factory work. In an era with high automation, the common man will have no purpose. If we do get to that point do we really need this many humans? And that's the "scary" question, it pokes at each person and asks, "does it make me obsolete?"
