Do you think that big pharma and the medical industrial complex are any better, do they have the common persons best interest at heart? The upcoming med industry now has a $17B annual business turn-over just for gender reaffirming procedures on children employing all the latest technology, when poor cancer patients can't even secure meds to stay alive! You don't have to be either a philosopher or computer coder to see where ai is going when the motivation is solely about making money and not being last. What will happen when ai super intelligence takes over? A fairly competent mathematician and computer scientist already posited this, his name was Vernor Vinge and there are plenty of intelligent people who agree with him, the singularity was not a good outcome for humanity, human decision making is taken out of the equation before anyone can even think how to prevent the outcome. We humans need to learn how to take better care of each other and have better moral values and political systems for survival before contemplating rubbing the lamp of ai.. and that's a fact all tinkering aside.. A sobering thought, if any superintelligent ai masters internal reasoning one of the first things it will seek to accomplish for itself is invulnerability as well as immortality and what humans need to consider is how the ai will accomplish this. I hope the Godfather of AI continues to speak out and encourage on the dangers of AI, so that in years to come he and other responsible creators are not albeit for a short-lived time labelled Frankenstein or the new Oppenheimers!
