Rumor mill says that there's one person left (Kilby) from the original organization prior to things blowing up last year, and an intern turned communications director. This is all allegedly coming from one person who is losing her ever loving mind, allegedly. The original and revised statements both reek of someone trying to justify their own poor (alleged) decisions. Writers, including some of those who have been commercially successful out of the project, are dropping off the writers board in droves; very much "take my name out of your mouth" territory. Also, as a disabled writer, I hate being used as weapon against people rightly criticizing generative AI.
