If someone is actually monetizing their ai artwork, which is based or rather trying to copy another person's art it's fine to hate on it. If someone is using ai to sell merch with "ghibli" artwork they are ok to follow whatever recourse, I figure a cease and desist is the usual. But if you are hating on a not ill intentioned just using ai for recreation purposes or just using that art on harmless things or projects (putting it on a shirt only you are going to use, using it as a background desktop, or a simple thumbnail, I do that) then you are coming off as petty and you are really not helping your case. All art is derivative, and ai is not different, in most cases for art that is not being copied it essentially transforming what would amount to less than a pixel of information that it has been given and turning a million of these inputs into an image. It's really harmless, unless used with that motive, in which case go after the person, don't be an unproductive ahole. If you want more protections for artists then take action in that regard. As far as I am aware chat gpt doesn't even generate copyrighted material, nor can you feed it some artists work. To get that you need a decent computer, which can run a generator locally, and then feed it a bunch of work. So this doesn't even help anything, you are not even affecting the people who actually steal artwork.
