A few months later and I’m sure you’ve heard, but there are LLMs that can be run locally. My big beefy Fortnite machine can churn out paragraphs and speeches faster and better than most of my peers could, and it’s all happening locally. It’s nowhere near as good as GPT yet, but it’s getting close. On the other side would be the open source innovations in large language models. I don’t remember the name specifically but a fully open source and technically locally runnable, though you would need a few powerful rigs, exists, and it even outperforms chatGPT3.5. Pretty crazy amounts of progress in such a short time.
