I don't recommend anyone go into 3D or digital art right now. Ay-Eye is terrible for artists, and it's only going to improve. I'm thinking about doing a trade apprenticeship. Perhaps an electrician apprenticeship? I don't know what to do anymore. I wasted ten years going to school for animation to get an associates degree and a bachelor's degree. I graduated in December 2018. I worked at Brazen for a short contract in April 2019. I worked as an intern at P!xar in Summer 2019. That was the most amazing experience I had. San Francisco Bay area was beautiful. I worked as a junior animator at Deck Nine from December 2021 to May 2023. There was a mass layoff. I have not worked since then. I get constant rejections to every place I apply. I'm getting ready to change my career path. I've been experiencing dizziness and imbalance since February 2023. Most of my money goes to medical bills. I'm literally running out of money, and I'm still stuck living with my parents. My family helped me with surgery in April 2025 for my sinuses, and that didn't help anyway. YT doesn't pay enough for it to be sustainable because I hardly get views on my game or new animation pages. I mainly do games, animation, and some random vlogs. I'm a naturally fast runner. Unfortunately, I went to a small, poor school that didn't have sports. I was the fastest guy at the school, but there were no opportunities. I could have been in the NFL or olympics making money if I didn't go to that school (It wasn't my choice as a kid). Animation, games, film, and technology industries are not worth going into unless you are learning Ay-Eye. Students should stop before they get too deep into it. After Inside Out 2 released, more than 175 employees were laid off at P!xar. I met most of the animators who were laid off during my time there in 2019. Some of them were part of my intern group. I have a picture of the group sitting up above my bed post on the wall behind me right now. I grew up during the era of Dragon Ball Z on Toonami. Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Gundam Wing, etc. 1989. Animation is cool, but this life is miserable and boring. I started driving to jobs locally in the past three weeks and giving them my resume in person. I've had talks with managers on the same day I walked into the buildings. Why did I do this? Because ay-eye systems are automatically rejecting resumes. Therefore, I hand them a paper version in person and talk with them first. It's October 11, 2025 at 11:04 P.M. I'm watching DAIMA. I'm still out of work, and I'm still dizzy. It's very disappointing seeing my former classmates work at these famous, major studios and work on cool films. Especially, considering I went to school longer than them. Some of them are on the beach in Los Angeles, and I'm still trapped in miserable North Texas. I did what my parents said, which is "focus on school" and not work while I'm in school. I should have never listened to that advice. Good luck to anyone who wants to do animation. Think about your choice meticulously. I may do ay-eye stories as a side hobby if I ever get the money someday. I'm looking into car detailing or starting trade apprenticeship jobs. An apprenticeship will be another 4 to 5 years wasted of this dreadful life, but at least I would be earning some money in the process. I don't know why I'm still alive, but I am. No idea.
